greg C’s Favorite Concert Performances Of 2010

All of these performances were top notch and absolutely amazing. However, since they’re so varied in style it’s virtually impossible to list in favorite order so I took the easy way out and listed them by order of occurrence. I will say that I was particularly floored by the Sleep, Gorguts, Wovenhand, Swans, Grinderman & Killing Joke shows but every one of these was extremely memorable.

R.I.P. Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson Of Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Psychic TV, Soisong & Threshold Houseboys Choir

From Cris Carter's Twitter Site: "Our dearest beautiful Sleazy left this mortal coil as he slept in peace last night. Words cannot express our grief."

Peter spent a very busy and long day working and had been in good mood. He had an excellent dinner, went to bed and fell asleep in a post-coital slumber. His houseboys found him unresponsive in the morning and it’s believed he had a heart attack while he slept. He wasn’t sick and there was no warning but it was, ultimately, a good way to check out. He was a kind, gentle and very intelligent person that made some of the best music I’ve ever heard and the world is truly a lesser place.  I'm deeply grateful that I'd gotten to know him personally but he was far too young to leave us at 55 years old.  He's now with Jhonn again on the other side.

In his own words: "We are all only temporary curators of our present bodies, which will all decay, sooner or later. In a hundred years or so ALL the humans currently alive will have died. I take great comfort in knowing, with certainty, that thing that makes us special, able to enrich our own lives and those of others, will not cease when our bodies do, but will be just starting and new (and hopefully even better) adventure...If we don't get to meet in this Life, maybe in the next you can buy me a beer! ,-)" - Peter Christopherson, July 31, 2010, in response to his interview in The Quietus: http://thequietus.com/articles/04504-sleazy-interview-coil-throbbing-gristle
